Enter The '23 Spring Training Home Run Derby!
The OPTIONAL Home Run Derby is Thursday (2/23/23), Pre Registration (below) is REQUIRED and has an Entry Fee.
Here's how the Home Run Derby works: When you register below for the HR Derby, you'll choose a 60 minute qualifying "Session" to hit in.
We only have (1) field allocated for each sex, and limited time on each. Spaces are EXTREMELY limited to (22) participants/session. Registration is first come, first serve.
****Make sure your Qualifying Session time doesn't conflict with your Play-In Game time!****
All participants are required to show up at the START of their 60 minute session they registered for, or face possible disqualification.
The director will then split the registrants up into (2) groups: Group A and Group B. The first group will hit, while the other group shags balls.
Then the 2 groups will switch, to complete the session. This way we have people shagging balls (we wouldn't get very far without the balls coming back in).
HR DERBY RULES:
~ Swing any current ASA or USSSA bat (no Senior bats)
~ 12" HR Derby Balls (Stadiums/Jokers or similar) will be supplied
~ You supply your own Pitcher - Pitchers get 1 warm up pitch (if hitter swings at a warmup, the pitch is live)
~ 10 Swings - can watch/take 4 pitches
~ Women Hit from 2nd Base
~ 1 Group Shags, while 1 Group Hits, then switch
~ Top (8) Men & Top (4) Women from the entire day advance to Finals at 8pm Thursday
~ Any tie breaker Hit-Offs will happen between 7:30pm
~ Finals will be a single elimination bracket format
PRIZES:
- Men's Winner will receive the Spiderz Men's HR Derby Championship Belt and 2 BATS!! ('23 Spiderz/PURE Spring Training NDM3 and '23 Spiderz/Juno Collins X, Andrew Collins signature bat!)
- Men's Runner Up will receive a '23 Spiderz/PURE Spring Training NDM3 bat
- Women's Winner will receive the Spiderz Women's HR Derby Championship Belt and a '23 Spiderz/PURE Spring Training bat!
